HGC is the first telecom operator in Hong Kong to receive ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 27017, ISO/IEC 27018 and CSA STAR Level 2 four certifications for corporate cloud services

Hong Kong, 11 May 2020 – HGC Global Communications Limited (HGC), a fully-fledged fixed-line operator and ICT service provider with extensive local and international network coverage, services and infrastructure, is delighted to announce that it has become the first telecom operator in Hong Kong to achieve the major milestone of certifications for ISO standards ISO/IEC 27001:2013, ISO/IEC 27017:2015, ISO/IEC 27018:2019 as well as Cloud Security Alliance Security Trust Assurance and Risk (CSA STAR) Level 2 certification for cloud services to local corporate customers. These certifications, audited by an independent third-party certifying body, attest to HGC’s ability to meet recognised global standards and confirm its industry-leading best practices in business operations, data compliance and cloud service provisioning.

ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification specifies high level practices in implementing, operating, monitoring, maintaining and improving an Information Security Management System (ISMS), in assuring customers that HGC complies with industry standards in data protection and security. ISO/IEC 27017:2015 and ISO/IEC 27018:2019 certifications are recognition of HGC’s strong capabilities in information security controls applicable to the provision of cloud services, with implementation guidance and secure protection to ensure customers’ privacy in the cloud. Together with the CSA STAR Level 2 certification, which specifies the comprehensive and rigorous requirements for cloud security, they represent another milestone achievement of the HGC Group in attaining world-class standards in cloud security and attest to its commitment to providing a secure cloud platform for customers.
