Giving out 600 computers to schools and students in need of home learning support
As the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak continues, it has been announced that the suspension of classes at all schools will be extended. As such, schools must react accordingly, and IT in education will become an important part of home learning. HGC has partnered with the Association of I.T. Leaders in Education (AiTLE) to launch the Learning@home Programme. The programme will provide IT and digital support to primary and secondary schools by giving out 600 sets of refurbished secondhand computers to over 30 local schools and students in need.
Each computer set comprises a base unit, a monitor, a mouse and a keyboard. HGC refurbished the computers and sought out schools in need, with help from AiTLE, then arranged delivery according to the needs of schools and students in the hope of easing their burdens.
