Our International Network

With our ongoing commitment to building an unobstructed network supporting a rapidly evolving global telecommunications industry, at Hutchison Global Communications ("HGC"), we are constantly expanding our coverage not only on a local scale, but also on a worldwide basis. Our extensive network coverage enables us to deliver a variety of quality services to a full range of regional and local customers, from enthusiastic information-seekers and web-surfers at home, to forward-looking small and medium enterprises at work, to the world's large multi-nationals and network carriers.
Since 2000, our local optic fibre network has been directly connected
to China Telecom's Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH) Ring. With
this development, we became the first new Fixed Telecommunications
Network Services (FTNS) operator in Hong Kong to have direct telecommunications
links with the Mainland. In December 2002, HGC and China Telecom
also reached a capacity expansion agreement to increase the interconnection
capacity by 10Gbit/s to 12.5Gbit/s. The agreement represents the
first international carrier to have a single 10Gbit/s SDH System
interconnected with China Telecom. HGC was also the first new FTNS opeator in Hong Kong to complete a Mainland-HK network interconnection with a 10Gbit/s capacity with China Netcom in early 2004. Since 2000, HGC has self-financed and constructed fibre optic cable systems at Lok Ma Chau, Man Kam To and Lo Wu to provide cross-border telecom services for its customers. With Hong Kong-Shenzhen Western Corridor fibre optic cable system in operation in August 2008, HGC now boasts the largest number of cross-border routings in Hong Kong. Each routing provides multiple of ten to one hundred gigabit-per-second (Gbps) capacity. Backed by an abundant level of fibre cores, the system provides Hong Kong's biggest cross-border capacity.
Helping to enhance Hong Kong's competitiveness as a major communications hub in the region, the contribution of our global telecommunications network ensures that Hong Kong emerges as one of the most connected cities in the world. Extending our global reach, we own virtually unlimited bandwidth capacity on international submarine cable systems and have established bilateral partnerships with the world's leading international carriers.

Telecommunications Facilities in Overseas Countries
Having firmly cemented our solid foundations in the local telecommunications market and benefiting
from the advantages delivered by our state-of-the-art fibre-optic network, we are rapidly emerging as a major telecommunications carrier
in the region with the rapid extension of our international network.
We are further extending our global presence by setting up offices in Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Shenzhen in the PRC, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam and Los Angeles in the United States. With these overseas presence and ancillary facilities, we are poised to grow into one of the region's leading telecommunications service providers embracing both voice and data services.
