Fibre Optic Network
Ever since our establishment in 1995, Hutchison Global Communications
("HGC") has been fully committed to vigorously building a brand
new fixed fibre optic network to provide our business and residential
customers with leading, diversified and advanced telecommunications
services. These services include the offering of an alternative
in the provision of local phone services, and speed up to 1Gbps* broadband Internet access services as well as a number of
data exchange application solutions.
Building on the strenuous efforts made over the years, we have
been able to complete the rollout of our 4,600km fibre optic ring
covering the whole of Hong Kong. With the total length of the fibre
optic core running to more than 800,000km, our HGC Fibre Optic Network
links over 4,000 buildings throughout the territory directly to
our diverse range of services.
In addition to commercial buildings and private housing estates,
we are also expanding our service to newly completed public housing
and Home Ownership Scheme (HOS) flats, existing public housing estates
and customers in districts throughout Hong Kong.
