Q1. What should I do when all appropriate lights on the modem are on but I still cannot connect to the Internet?
  Please check if your computer has the correct network setting as shown in the installation guide and try to reset the modem by pressing the reset button on the modem.
   
Q2. The system connects to the server normally, however, there is no data flow. What should I do?
  Please try to reset your modem by pressing the top button on your modem.
   
Q3. Sometimes I encounter slow speed, what can possibly be the problem?
  Many factors can affect connection speeds, e.g. insufficient free hard disk space, execution of too many programmes at the same time, accessing of overseas web site, performance and traffic load at web servers, etc.
   
Q4. I fail to connect my HGC-PowerCom Broadband service to my PC. Why and what should I do?
  Please check if the power of PC has been switched on, your modem is properly installed and your computer has the correct network setting as shown in the installation guide.
   
Q5. What should I do after I press the reset button or having just plugged in the modem to the power socket?
  Please wait until the message light stops blinking after pressing the reset button or just plugging in the modem to the power socket.
   
Q6. What is HGC-PowerCom Broadband service?
  HGC-PowerCom is the next generation Internet access technology which enables user to have high-speed access to explore the Internet without additional wiring at home.
   
Q7. What is unique about HGC-PowerCom Broadband technology?
  HGC-PowerCom Internet Access technology utilizes the existing electrical wiring infrastructure in your home to transmit data. This technology enables user to have Internet connections via the power sockets in their home, which is not possible with other technologies without additional hardware.
   
Q8. How does the HGC-PowerCom modem connect to my computer?
  To install the HGC-PowerCom modem is very simple. You only need to connect the Ethernet Cable to the back of the modem and onto your computer. (Ethernet cable is provided with the modem) Insert the power plug into the power sockets in your home and you are ready to connect to the HGC-PowerCom network.
   
Q9. Will I enjoy good Internet access speed?
  HGC-PowerCom uses Dynamic Bandwidth Management to ensure optimal usage for each user and hence all users have ample bandwidth available at all times.
   
Q10. Do I need my Windows CD to install HGC-PowerCom Broadbnad service?
  Maybe. However, we suggest that customer should have the original Windows CD ready during the installation.
   
Q11. Can I talk on the phone and use the HGC-PowerCom Broadband service at the same time?
  Yes, you can talk on the phone while you surf on the web.
   
Q12. Can I have multiple HGC-PowerCom modems together in my home?
  Yes, you can use more than one HGC-PowerCom modems in your home.
   
Q13. Will my telephone line be interfered during data transmission?
  No, your telephone line will not be affected by the data transmission.
   
Q14. Will my electronic equipment be affected during data transmission?
  No, home appliances and electronic equipment will not be affected by the HGC-PowerCom modem.
   
Q15. Will home appliances and electronic equipment affect data transmission?
  No, common household appliances that comply with safety standards will not affect performance of HGC-PowerCom Broadband service.
