HGC Pioneers 'Home Zone Residential Telephone Line' ServiceSpearheading 'Fixed Mobile Convergence'
Imagine being able to talk on your home telephone when walking your dog in the neighbourhood?
Hutchison Global Communications Limited ("HGC") has made this possible with its innovative 'Home Zone Residential Telephone Line' service. This novel mode of communications spearheads 'Fixed Mobile Convergence' ("FMC") by allowing Hong Kong customers to make and receive unlimited FREE calls with the 'Home Zone Residential Telephone Line' service in designated neighbourhoods. From now until 15 October 2004, all new customers* who have successfully registered and completed the installation of HGC' s 'Home Zone Residential Telephone Line' service will be able to enjoy the new service at a monthly fee of HK$88.
With two fixed telecommunications numbers and a 'Home Zone Residential Telephone' supported by mobile communications technologies~, the new service allows customers to bring along their home telephone and make and receive as many free calls# in neighbouring areas as they wish.
Clara Kan, HGC' s Head of Consumer Market, said the 'Home Zone Residential Telephone Line' service is an unprecedented 'Fixed Mobile Convergence' trend.
"Leveraging our top-notch self-built network and utilising the latest technologies, HGC continues to introduce unique value added services to cater for the genuine needs of our customers," Kan said. "The newly launched 'Home Zone Residential Telephone Line' service provides two fixed telecommunications numbers for one monthly fee and avoids the hassle of installing a second fixed telephone line. It also allows our customers to make and receive unlimited calls in their neighbourhoods#, thanks to the mobile communications advantages breaking the geographical barrier."
The 'Home Zone Residential Telephone Line' service makes use of the advanced 'Location Based Service' (LBS) to define a home-zone with an average coverage of 10,000 square metres^ where customers can make and receive unlimited free calls#.
